Klaas Schouwstra

My passion lies in making organisations more effective and strengthening the HR function. Change and improvement are in my DNA. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management. With this background, I look at both the business and human sides of organisations. I have further developed this foundation through a postgraduate programme in Change Management and various courses in HR and project management.

After working on several organisation development projects, I held various HR positions and roles within the Beiersdorf Group. Throughout the many change initiatives I was involved in, I developed a growing fascination with the interplay between people, organisations and technology.

In recent years, I have specialised in strengthening the HR function within organisations. I help organisations develop an HR service delivery model that meets their needs and work alongside HR professionals to implement it. A key focus is making optimal use of electronic Human Resource Management (e-HRM) functionality. My strength lies in making change work in practice, ensuring it is sustainable and supported throughout the organisation. In doing so, I always consider both the business and technical aspects and the organisational and human dimensions.

At home, I could not be happier with my two bright kids and my wonderful wife. Exercising three times a week helps me stay healthy. I also regularly nourish my soul by attending a wide variety of concerts with friends and my brothers, enjoying everything from Gregorian chant to heavy metal.
