Myrthe Geschiere
Consultant
For over twenty years, I have supported organisations with challenges relating to leadership, collaboration and organisational development. I do this as a programme manager, consultant, trainer and coach, working across sectors including healthcare, education, government, housing and business.
A colleague once said to me: “You have both feet firmly on the ground and quickly build trust. People feel seen and heard when working with you, yet you are not afraid to hold up a mirror and challenge them.”
I recognise that combination of warmth and constructive challenge. I believe lasting development begins with genuine attention to people and the courage to openly address patterns that stand in the way of progress. My strength lies in bringing together people, perspectives and interests, and creating an environment where people feel safe to be themselves, use their strengths and continue to develop.
"Follow your heart, and your feet will follow.”
What trends do you see in your field?
I see organisations increasingly recognising that challenges relating to leadership, collaboration and change cannot be viewed in isolation. Problems rarely arise in just one area; they are part of a bigger picture. As a result, there is growing interest in taking a broader perspective: looking not only at behaviour or individual performance, but also at underlying patterns, an organisation’s history and the context in which people work together. This broader view helps me address not just the symptoms, but create change that has a lasting impact.
What characterises your approach when working with clients?
Curiosity is always my starting point. I want to understand what is happening, what ambitions people have and what dilemmas they face. Clients describe me as committed, approachable and trustworthy. At the same time, I am not afraid to hold up a mirror or raise difficult issues, because genuine development requires an honest look at what works and what does not. I believe in partnership: exploring together what is needed, without simply telling each other what we want to hear.
Do you have a dream for the future?
My ultimate dream is to one day design and build a self-sufficient, circular home. A little utopia with a large, wild garden. I also hope to see much more of the world. And somewhere on my bucket list is a very special wish: to go skydiving with three generations at once, together with my father, son and daughter.
What do you value most in life?
Meaningful relationships with the people around me, enjoying what I do and paying attention to the things that truly matter.
