“From day one, I could feel your commitment to our company, your drive and the value you bring in genuinely helping us move forward.” This is the feedback I recently received from a client, and it captures exactly for what I stand for. I fully immerse myself in the organisation. I focus on results, but always together with the people involved. I take a strategic perspective while keeping my solutions practical and straightforward.
For over 20 years, I have thoroughly enjoyed working as an organisational consultant and interim HR manager, tackling complex organisational challenges at the intersection of business administration, organisational development and HR. My focus is on translating strategy into clear choices, effective leadership and changes that work in practice.
I enjoy exploring with organisations what it takes to move forward. This might involve organisational design, restructuring, developing an executive or management team, or redefining the role of HR. I like to look at the bigger picture, but above all, I want plans to work in practice. What can you actually change? Where is there room to do things differently? Working together to solve that puzzle is something I do with genuine passion. And I bring not only my experience to the table, but also who I am as a consultant.
I was born and raised on a dairy farm in the Liemers region, so I come from a true entrepreneurial family. I live in Didam with my husband, our teenage daughters and our dog Jet. Despite having a predominantly desk-based profession, I am secretly a real outdoor enthusiast. Nothing makes me happier than a long walk with the dog, spending time in nature, doing Pilates or playing plenty of padel.
"Step outside your comfort zone regularly – that’s where growth happens!"
Do you have a specialisation?
I specialise in organisational design, organisational development and change. At the same time, I enjoy being involved more broadly. My strength lies in assignments that require a broad perspective: organisational design, culture and strategy, and fostering collaboration.
What is your vision for your field?
I often work with organisations that have extensive market knowledge and perform well externally, but face internal limitations that hold back their growth. The executive or management team may not yet be ready for the next phase, the organisational structure may no longer be suitable, HR may be lagging behind, or existing approaches to leadership and collaboration may no longer meet the organisation’s needs. I help organisations ensure that their internal structures and ways of working evolve alongside their ambitions and strategy.
What trends do you see in your field?
There is a growing shift towards shared leadership and greater empowerment of teams. I find it inspiring to see how we are collectively evolving and exploring new forms of leadership, where leading is no longer reserved for the traditional model of a single individual at the top.
I felt it was a missed opportunity that the move towards self-organisation in many healthcare organisations did not achieve its intended results in practice. Now, I see promising new approaches emerging from those experiences. Combining team ownership and responsibility with the support of middle management can create real added value. It is not a question of either-or, but both-and.
Do you have a dream for the future?
I am content with my life. Things are already good, so why put happiness off until later? I enjoy my work, my family and everything that comes with them.
