Martine de Munck
Backoffice
I was born and raised in Utrecht and am the proud mother of a son and a daughter. I started working as a secretary straight after leaving school. I now have over forty years of experience in the profession, most of which I have spent at organisational consultancies. I joined Bright & Company in 2014. When Bright became part of the Galan Group in 2020, I also began working for the Galan Group, supporting the Leadership & Transition and Strategy, Governance & Organisational Design practice groups.
I enjoy taking good care of the people I work for. Wherever possible, I take work off their hands and make sure everything is organised down to the smallest detail. My strength lies particularly in planning and organising complex meetings and appointments. I am also involved in preparing and reviewing proposals. Internally, I aim to be the person who keeps everything running smoothly, while externally, I act as a key point of contact for clients.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, whether sharing a meal, having a glass of wine or going to the cinema. I also love walking the dog. In addition, I try to walk a section of the Pieterpad, a long-distance walking trail in the Netherlands, every month. After six years, I hope to reach the finish line in early October 2026.
"Don’t count the days, make the days count."
What makes you stand out?
I am client-focused, loyal and remain calm under pressure. I focus on solutions, am not easily discouraged and communicate clearly. My enthusiasm and positive attitude help me bring others along.
What do you enjoy about your work?
The practice groups I support are quite similar, yet the work they generate is very different. Every day brings new surprises, and that is exactly what makes my work so enjoyable. There is little point in planning too far ahead, as things always turn out differently than expected.
What characterises your contact with clients?
I always stay true to myself and use a healthy dose of humour to build good relationships with clients.
Who is your greatest role model?
My greatest role model was my husband, Cor. In his own unique way, and with his positive outlook, he inspired and motivated not only our family, but also relatives, friends and colleagues. In doing so, he made my world, and the lives of others, a little brighter and more special.
